The Lodge

The Lodge is built from wood with Minahasan style concept, following Tasik Divers’ origin from the land of Minahasan, Manado. There establishment consist of 2 ocean view cottages, 6 beach chalet rooms and 2 family duplex rooms. All rooms are equipped with air-conditioning, hot/cold shower, safety box, day bed which functions as third bed and are furnished in a functional minimalist style.

You are within walking distance from the beach to enjoy your swim in the crystal clear sea. Surrounded by shallow water you can meet and greet the occasional giant turtles visiting the beach to find the perfect place to lay their eggs. Derawan is home to green turtles and we do work and support John, who is our turtle consultant employed by the WWF. John will be happy to inform us anytime the turtles come up the beach to lay their eggs.

Dive Courses with Tasik Divers

A barefoot walk on the long beach around the island is a must, but there are more secrets to discover on the other islands around Derawan. Or simply watch the world go by from your hammock under swaying palms.

Our friendly staff is mainly from the island itself and happy to make your stay a once in a lifetime experience.

We strive to create balance between cosy atmosphere and ecology: We’ve put in extra care by using eco-friendly septic tank, exporting our trash back to Berau city for recycling. We use “1 guest 1 bottle” concept for our guest to use. We have water station for refill and this eliminates the use of excessive plastic. We have recycling bin to collect plastic, aluminium cans and glass bottles. Due to limited power on the island, we do have to conserve and alternate the use between the water heaters and the air-conditioning. We seek your understanding.

Food & Beverages

Our small outdoor restaurant is located beneath one of the rooms. We will serve you mainly Indonesian food. The restaurant staff is a mixture of locals and Manadonese who will look after your culinary well-being with traditional Indonesian spices. Be aware that we are in the Muslim part of Indonesia, so the meats are limited to seafood, chicken and the occasional beef. No pork will be served due to our respect for our local staff’s culture.
